Empowering Artists to Shape the Future: Materia Prima & PIA School Partner Up
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with PIA Contemporary Art School.
The collaboration with PIA School may enlarge the perspective and opportunities for students to work in a professional residency focusing on the relationship between art and nature. MateriaPrima Fountation and PIA support emerging art and this partnership might be a professional chance for artists and curators to deal with a peculiar environment full of history and tradition and yet facing contemporary themes such as the agricolture, the biodiversity and the climate emergency.
We both aim to provide aspiring artists with immersive training and resources, allowing them to enhance their skills and creativity in an exceptional artistic environment. The program will also provide students with the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience, paving the way for a new generation of talented artists. We are excited to witness the extraordinary creations that will arise from this initiative.
PIA - a circulating school for artist and curators is an experimental school for contemporary visual art, based in Lecce (Puglia) that involves both artists and curator in their training. The didactic program aims to improve and support the work of our participants by organizing an intensive path during eight months of lessons of recent art history and frontal “crits” in order to enrich the production and the research of our students. Every year at the end of the course PIA invite an international artist and curator to set a masterclass. Currently the school is housed in the Castromediano Museum.
